My parents recently discovered the The Regal PictureHouse cinema in Henley, when it was the only cinema showing 'Northern Soul' (2014, directed by Elaine Constantine). They said what a lovely atmosphere it had and so a few weeks ago I visited to go and see 'The Imitation Game' (2014, directed by Morten Tyldum).
The cinema is only small, with a grand total of three screens!! It has a very personal feel, as if you are viewing the film in your living room!, personally a much more enjoyable way to watch a film!! I would definitely recommend it and would like to see more cinemas like it.
Not only do they have a café downstairs, but they also sell popcorn, chocolate and other sweet treats upstairs when buying your ticket. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome, contributing to the relaxed atmosphere .

'On Golden Pond'
So my mum was the one who suggested the idea of watching the favourite films of family members! so which better film to start with than her favourite film 'On Golden Pond' (1981).
Directed by Mark Rydell, 'On Golden Pond' follows the story of a retired couple- Norman (Henry Fonda) and Ethel Thayer (Katherine Hepburn) who travel to their summer home by the lake (filmed at Lake Squam in America, somewhere I really want to visit!). Whilst here, Norman celebrates his birthday with his daughter (Jane Fonda), her fiancé Bill Ray(Dabney Coleman) and his son Billy Ray (Doug McKeon), all of whom he has not seen in 4 years. After a quick visit, Billy Ray is left with Norman and Ethel as his dad and step mum travel to Europe, to get married as we later learn. Initially difficult to get on with, Norman begins to form a friendship with Billy Ray, ultimately resulting in the feel good happy family ending this film is known for.
I watched the film a couple of years ago and couldn't help but love it! It has such a simple story, minimal characters and one beautiful setting- The lake. You cant help but feel happy once watching it!

Intro !
At the age of 14 I got a webcam, originally to use with Skype, I began to make short films, uploading them to my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCUAJRoLpzAtJNXerK0ux0g. Realising I wanted to pursue a career in film production I have continued to develop my own work.
I then began studying Film Studies at college and began analysing films such as 'Taxi Driver', 'The Searchers', 'The Full Monty', 'Brassed Off', 'La Haine', 'City of God' and the list goes on. Until this point, the range of films I had watched was pretty limited! so I started to watch a wider range of films, starting by watching the favourite films of my family members.
